Hog Roast Danby Wiske Heads Back To High Brockholme Barns!

If luxury with a rustic edge is what you’re after, it’s hard to beat High Brockholme Barns. Since bursting onto the North Yorkshire wedding scene back in 2024, this venue’s built up quite the following – and it’s not hard to see why. With sweeping views across the Cleveland and Hambleton Hills and an interior that manages to feel both airy and warm at once with soft wooden finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows letting the light pour in, we’ll admit it, we’re a little bit smitten too.hog roast north yorkshire

Lucky for us, Hog Roast Danby Wiske’s had the privilege of catering here more than once – and this month we were back again for Emily and Josh’s wedding. The couple had put real thought into making the space feel like their own,

working closely with the venue’s dream team on table settings, decorations and florals until it all clicked into place. They’d even had a rustic sign made up, laying out a timeline for the day so guests always knew what excitement was coming next. And a fair bit of that excitement, unsurprisingly, revolved around the food.

Every wedding needs a proper meal at its heart, especially given it’s the couple’s first as a married pair. Emily and Josh knew that, which is why they went with our Alfresco Menu for their 70 guests. A wise choice, if we do say so, ourselves.

After hours of prep behind the scenes, we kicked things off at 2pm with a trio of canapés, chipolata sausages, roasted duck wraps and tomato bruschetta, giving guests something light to enjoy while they mingled and swapped thoughts on the ceremony they’d just watched.

Then, once the toasts wrapped up at around 4pm, Hog Roast Danby Wiske brought out our antipasti platters – wooden boards loaded with Italian meats, cheeses, fruit and vegetable sticks – which was closely followed by the main event, a full hog roast buffet. Guests were able to help themselves to pulled pork and crackling with stuffing and applesauce, or vegetable kebabs for anyone skipping meat, alongside fresh salads and fluffy potato sides, which went down a storm.

Hog Roast Danby Wiske finished the whole thing off with a duo of decadent desserts before stepping back to let the celebrations run on into the evening, cleaning up quietly behind the scenes so Emily and Josh never had to think twice about it.
