If you’re after a wedding venue with bags of charm, history in spades and luxury baked into every brick, Goldsborough Hall is hard to beat. Nestled in the stunning North Yorkshire countryside, this 400-year-old stately home is the crown jewel of the village, mixing Jacobean architecture with a properly royal past.

It was once home to Princess Mary too, so a fairytale wedding feels almost built in. And with its peaceful setting, grand interiors and plenty of space for a big guest list, it’s easy to see why Sofie and Mike fell for the place. Once they’d added their own personal touches and brought their vision for the day to life, there was just one important detail left to sort: the food.
Enter Hog Roast Goldsborough.
We spent plenty of time chatting with the couple before the big day, going back and forth over the menu until they were completely happy with their choices. Even with 130 guests to feed, Sofie and Mike wanted to keep things relaxed and straightforward, making our namesake hog roast the star of the show.

Bringing a little royalty back to this regal manor, Hog Roast Goldsborough spent the entire afternoon cooking a whole pig low and slow until the meat was fall-apart tender and the crackling was crisp enough to snap with every bite. Alongside it, we prepared BBQ pulled jackfruit and grilled vegetable kebabs, giving vegetarian and vegan guests something just as hearty and flavour-packed to tuck into. A generous helping of mixed sweet potato and classic fries completed the feast, with plenty for everyone to pile onto their plates.
Once the last hog roast sandwiches had been thoroughly demolished, guests could warm up with hand-crafted coffees and desserts provided by Koffee and Kream. As the temperature dipped, their artisan coffees proved to be a particularly welcome treat and it was lovely to work alongside their team to keep everyone fueled well into the evening.
Being part of Sofie and Mike’s wedding was an absolute pleasure. From the spectacular setting to the relaxed atmosphere and, of course, all those happy faces around the food, it was a brilliant day from start to finish. Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for letting Hog Roast Goldsborough be part of it.
