Friday afternoon marked a momentous occasion in Janice’s life: retirement! After an incredible 50-year career, she decided it was finally time to trade in her office chair for relaxation and fun.
Her family and friends, determined to send her off in style, pulled out all the stops to organise a massive surprise party for her. And, leading the charge was her husband, Eric, who booked a lively function suite at a local bar and decked it out with balloons, bunting, and a spectacular ‘happy retirement’ cake.
Of course, no celebration is complete without great food, and Eric knew just who to call: Hog Roast Baldersby! We were thrilled to join the festivities, and our energetic catering manager, Richard, whipped up our sensational Alfresco Menu ahead of the guests’ arrival.
Janice’s eyes widened as Eric led her into the venue, where over 100 cheering family and friends awaited. The air was filled with the irresistible aroma of our signature hog roast – tender shredded pork, crispy crackling, and all the trimmings piled high on soft buns. It was a feast fit for the occasion, and everyone dug in with gusto as the party kicked into high gear.
Alongside the hog roast, we served up fresh heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, crisp seasonal greens, and zesty coleslaw in charming bamboo bowls. Roasted new potatoes added a wholesome touch, while our BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls delighted the vegetarian and vegan guests. Not to mention the antipasti platters of fine cheeses, deli meats, and artisanal breads that disappeared in a flash!
As the celebration rolled on, our deliciously creamy individual cheesecakes and luxurious profiteroles capped off the meal on a sweet note. Janice beamed with joy, surrounded by laughter and heartfelt congratulations. It was a retirement party to remember, filled with love, laughter, and incredible food.
